Unsporting Behaviour

The whole world saw Thierry Henry's hand touching the ball before passing the ball to Gallas who scored France's equaliser with Ireland on 18 Nov 09 World Cup Qualifying game.Everyone except the referee. How does one describe such behaviour? Unsporting, the very least.Such is the importance of qualifying for the World Cup in 2010 that countries, even celebrated players, are willing to cheat. In the case of Maradona with his "hand of God" touch was not so evident, but Henry touched the ball twice controlling it so that it did not get out and he can pass it on.The Irish FA has asked FIFA for a replay. For the sake of the game it should.

Back home, the unsporting behaviour of the Kelantanese fans when their team lost to Negri Sembilan in the final on the 14 Nov was even worse.Burning the stadium seats, damaging the toilets etc.Its not the first time Kelantanese fans demonstrated such dirty behaviour. They should not be banned from any game their team are playing as punishment say for six months.Honestly the club should have been fined more than RM50,000.After all the damage was more than RM200,000.Next time whenever Kelantan plays the police should have plainclothes men mingled among the Kelantanese crowd, so that its easy to catch vandals.Dont fine them, put them in the jail for a week. Then they will know.
